Un sondaggio Wta ha lanciato un sondaggio fra i giornalisti sul 2009: giocatrice dell’anno (Serena, Safina, Kuznetsova), coppia (Williams-Williams, Huber-Black, Lagostera-Martinez Sanchez), ritorno (Clijsters, Date, Sharapova, Stosur), maggior progressi (Wozniacki, Azarenka, Li Na, Wickmayer, Martinez Sanchez), rivelazioni (Oudin, Lisicki, Dulgheru). Ubaldo voterà dopo aver contato i vostri voti.

Cari amici del blog, per prima cosa mi scuso molto per averlo aggiornato assai poco recentemente, anche se avrei mille cose da scrivere. Ma il tempo è tiranno e il coordinamento in Australia di sei, sette inviati fra redattori, fotografi e collaboratori, più i contatti con chi è rimasto in Italia portano via un sacco di tempo. Faccio a malapena a tempo a scrivere per www.ubitennis.com.
La Wta mi ha mandato questo sondaggio, che vedete qui sotto con le motivazioni delle nomination. Scrivetemi i vostri voti. Io li conterò e poi voterò di conseguenza.

    ecco la mia classifica:
    Giocatrice: Serena. E’ la più forte di tutte nettamente.
    Coppia: le sorelle Williams: quando giocano insieme, è davvero difficile batterle
    Ritorno: Kimiko Date! E’ molto più impressionante che una giocatrice torni a 39 anni dopo 13 anni di inattività e vinca pure qualche torneo, piuttosto che una che ne ha 26 ed è stata ferma solo un paio.
    Maggiori progressi: Yanina indubbiamente
    Rivelazione: qualche dubbio, ma mi ha impressionato la Oudin. Peccato che non stia mantenendo lo stesso livello dimostrato a NYC.

    Per la giocatrice dell’anno prendo sicuramente la Safina: se tre anni fa qualcuno mi avesse detto che Dinara avrebbe giocato 3 slam su 4 da testa di serie numero 1 non ci avrei creduto. Il2009 è sicuramente il suo anno.

    La coppia numero uno del mondo è quelle delle sorelle: 3 alm su quattro parlano chiaro.

    Kimiko Date credo la ricorderemo per lungo tempo. Il suo ritorno (vincente!) nel 2009 raprresenta un caso vero e proprio. Battere gente come la Hantuchova e la Kirilenko è un’impresa per lo sport professionistico moderno. Solo Billie Jean King credo avesse vinto a un’età maggiore.

    Progressi incredibili ne hanno fatti in molte. Prendo la Azarenka perchè è stata molto più continua per tutto il 2009.

    Infine prendo Alexandra Dulgheru perchè ha fatto il salto di classifica più grande e onestamente a 20 anni non è facile saltare in avanti di quasi 300 posizioni.
